Richard Castricone Named Executive Chef of Adobe Bar & Grille

The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club recently named Richard Castricone Executive Chef of the new Adobe Bar & Grille. The new eatery, a reimagined rendition of the Biltmore’s popular Adobe Restaurant, will open this May as part of the Club’s new 19,400 sq. ft. clubhouse.

Castricone has 20-plus years of culinary experience, including overseeing restaurant, banquet and catering operations at hotels and resorts across Arizona. He most recently served as the executive sous chef at the Omni Hotel at ASU in Tempe, Arizona. Earlier in his career, Castricone was the executive chef at Saguaro Hotel Scottsdale, and at the Prescott Resort & Conference Center. He is also well versed in serving large banquets, weddings and events, having worked as the senior banquet sous chef at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona and as the chef de partie at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona. Born and raised in Salem, New Hampshire, Castricone has a degree in culinary arts.

“Chef Richard is a talented chef, who brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive background leading sizeable culinary operations like ours,” said Christophe Hermine, Director of Clubhouse Operations at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club. “We are excited to welcome him and his fresh ideas to the Adobe Bar & Grille.”

“I am honored to be part of the launch of the new Adobe Bar & Grille,” said Castricone. “The opportunity to lead the culinary team at the iconic Arizona Biltmore Golf Club and the new Adobe Bar & Grille is very exciting. I look forward to welcoming guests to our beautiful new restaurant and delivering an epic culinary experience.”

This May, the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club will unveil its multi-million-dollar clubhouse, marking the third and final phase of the new Arizona Biltmore Golf Club. Designed as a luxurious estate conversant with its immediate neighbors by Douglas Fredrikson, AIA, and Alexandra Lemos of Phoenix-based Douglas Fredrikson Architects, the new clubhouse includes the new Adobe Bar & Grille, a grab-and-go market known as The Pantry, a state-of-the-art golf simulator room, as well as 6,000 sq. ft. of event space in The Ballroom. Spaces in the new clubhouse are named for rooms one would find on an estate, including The Pantry, The Gallery, The Ballroom and The Balcony. The Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture blends a modern southwest design, incorporating many notable elements of the neighboring Arizona Biltmore Resort, including the signature concrete Biltmore block prominent in the resort’s design.

The new Adobe Bar & Grille will feature a center bar, communal tables for dining and swapping golf stories, multiple televisions and large Renlita doors that open to an expansive patio with views of the Estates Course and downtown Phoenix. The Bar area will also include a piano bar to provide a lounge-like atmosphere, regularly entertain guests and add ambiance to the dining experience. Contiguous from the Bar, the Adobe’s stylish dining room will also feature dynamic views of the skyline for neighbors, resort guests, golfers and non-golfers to enjoy. The new clubhouse replaces the former Adobe Restaurant and event tent, while adding additional on-site parking and landscape improvements to the property.
