The newly opened and renamed Estates Course at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club recently reopened following ryegrass overseed and a complete golf course renovation project. Formerly know as the Adobe Course, one of the state’s most historic golf courses, the course originally opened for play in 1929 and was a William Bell design.
During the renovation project, which began in June 2023, crews removed the course’s 9th hole; created a new par-3 4th hole over an existing lake; constructed a new 18th green complex (south of the former 18th green); and added 12 new tee boxes. The enhanced 9th hole (the former 8th hole) now plays as a 500+ yard par 5. In addition, a total of 27 bunkers were reshaped, relined and filled with new sand, and six bunkers were eliminated. Cart paths around the 90-year-old golf course were also replaced.

On-course work was led by Nevada-based Pro Turf International. The new layout measures 6,669 yards from the tips and plays to a par of 71. Pro Turf performed the renovation work during the hot summer months to accommodate Bermudagrass grow-in and to insure peak course conditions for the fall, winter and spring golf seasons. The overseed process, the annual planting of winter ryegrass, began on the Estates Course in early October.
2019 marked the Adobe Course’s 90th birthday. As Arizona’s third-oldest golf course, the William Bell-designed course dates back to 1929, a few months before the Arizona Biltmore Hotel opened its doors.
The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is located in the shadow of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. The Estates Golf Course is considered stately and grand, while adopting a modern design.
